These weeks have been busy for us!
The rainy season has started and it’s been flooding pretty bad…

Some of the friend’s homes are flooding and have to stay with others. Fortunately our place does not flood, but each end of our street does.
It’s only recommended to drive if you have a SUV or taller truck. And our rental is an AWD Toyota Kluger (basically a Highlander). but we can’t use the A/C when the water is high, it will get suctioned into the car… by the way it’s still hot and humid…
Despite this affecting our ministry and Bible studies, we have some other good news of being able to help out at the Suriname Bethel. We were asked if we can help with a small project of organizing containers that will be used as storage units for Assembly Hall items.
We really were nervous when we were asked to come in to meet the Service dept overseer, but right away he let us know that this is a temporary project and we were relieved it was in our wheelhouse! 😅

We truly feel Jehovah has trained us for this assignment in the past year! Helping a LDC construction group and an Assembly Hall definitely prepared us for the organization this requires. But also we realized how much this Branch territory needs help in many different ways! Being here we are constantly reminded of the fact that there is just not enough volunteers here to keep up with all the new demands. Since Suriname Branch was recently merged with Guyana, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. So we encourage all to “pray for more workers because the harvest is great!” Or if you are interested in coming to an area where you will definitely be used in ways you never thought you would be, write to the Suriname Branch!

Oh I think I forgot to mention one pivotal piece of information: we moved our publisher cards and we are officially a part of the Suriname Branch!

So we are at our halfway point of our first 3 months before we leave to Poland international. And we are planning on coming back in September because a big preaching campaign is being organized to go into the Interior as they call it(meaning further into the country/jungle). To villages and tribes that have never been preached to before. Only 14 of 80 have been reached. This most likely will take place in October/November.

Suriname is definitely a preaching paradise, and we hear Guyana even more so for English!
This does not mean that there aren’t hardships, inconveniences, and un-comforts. We are trying our best to not focus on these things, and keep busy with what Jehovah has invited us to do here. We are grateful, and trying to stay positive. We do miss some convenient things and comforts, along with many friends who just “get” us. But we know you are all just a text or phone call away. We love you all. 💛
