Week #1

It’s been a whirlwind already! Landed and got picked up by the Brewster’s. So kind of them to go all the way to the airport (which is not right in town), and take us to the store to get some food and essentials, then to dinner-an Indonesian restaurant of course! Delicious! 😋 We are at an Airbnb for a few nights until the first of the month when our apartment lease starts.

Thursday we got our rental car from a family here. They have been such a help for us! They are all construction servants now they rent out their car for short term people like us….for now. We practiced driving and went to a grocery store that has all the comforts of the U.S. hehe. Friday we joined the friends helping set up and clean the assembly location. And how did they know that we love cleaning toilets?? But that was our job and to be completely honest I thanked Jehovah that it was something I was comfortable with and I knew that Jehovah trained me for this exact moment haha. 🚽😉 We were happy to meet some new friends so that Saturday we would see some familiar faces!

Who would know that Saturday the jet lag set in and Seb and I would run late(that’s no surprise) would be sat in the front row, had to pinch ourselves to stay awake the whole assembly?!😅 Darryl gave the baptism talk and Debbie’s Bible student got baptized at the old assembly hall baptism pool(a different location from where we were). So drove over there real quick —but worth it!!

Met a lot of new friends!

Somehow we made it through the whole day and were so exhausted needed to take a nap. Then headed to the Brewsters for a lovely dinner and to do laundry 😅. Even though we’ve known each other, this was the first time I really had the chance to hang out with them and we are family already. Definitely a couple whose faith we would want to imitate!!

Now off to eat dinner with our new family…
